This time of year is perfect for bagging yourself a bargain and with careful planning, picking up that little something that make the trans-seasonal leap. As the stores finalise their sale period and bring in the new season offerings, we give you a few tips for the key pieces to look out for to make you both on-trend now and fashion forward for next season.

The Patterned Dress: Buy only dresses with that standout wow factor. Choose vintage prints and psychedelic accents for a perfect homage to the sixties trend.

Middles Get Belted: If you have a waist, then get cinching to create that hourglass figure. Use yours to refresh a summer frock now and cinch your winter coat later. 

Pale Pink: Probably the easiest trend to wear now, this spring/summer pastel hue is set to carry you through Autumn/Winter.

Zips: Designers have gone mad for functional clothing with strict silhouettes and structured looks.

Strappy Pointy Flats: The new shoe shape has arrived. Pointed flats for AW14 style come with strappy details, from classic Mary-Jane to T-bars and cross front straps. It’s your new shoe BFF.

What's Your Travel Style?

We are always intrigued by what people wear to travel in as they set off on their vacations. There was a time when people dressed up for plane rides, but now it’s pretty much anything goes. For us it’s all about remaining stylishly comfortable, which is why the sports luxe trend is so perfect for travel. A fuss-free modern silhouette, these sports-inspired pieces are favourably and unusually comfy for a fashion statement.

The key piece for travel from this trend is the jogger, effortlessly stylish and wonderfully relaxed. Opt for lighter colours with a distressed or textured finish, or try a standout print such as a floral. Keep things understated on top with a tucked in t-shirt or vest in failsafe colours. Finish your ensemble with flat footwear and add a scarf, cardigan or blazer (your must-have layering pieces for plane temperature unpredictability). The jogger can also be worn in the evening with heels and a belt to add back the ‘luxe’ into this perfect traveling companion.

Powder Blue is one of the chicest colours this summer and it certainly has inspired us here at Sproosy headquarters.

This candy coloured pastel hue has taken on a modern twist this season, by pairing with vivid brights to create a colourful equilibrium. It also creates a bold and sophisticated contrast when teamed with black.  It's a placid tone similar to a picture-perfect, tranquil sky, and is pretty much perfect to combine with any other colour in the spectrum.

Wear it as an accent colour or even in blocks head to toe! It also makes for a pretty great style choice for interior accents too.

This trend is well worth investing in, as this sugary sweet pastel will be creeping well into our Autumn/Winter '14/15' wardrobes too.
